What does it mean to be AAAHC certified?

One Heath Medical & Surgical Center is an AAAHC accredited ambulatory surgery center.

AAAHC stands for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The AAAHC is a non-profit, independent, private organization that reviews and establishes standards to ensure that patient care is delivered in a safe and high-quality environment. The AAAHC looks for many things when reviewing an organization, and our practice has rigorously undergone an extensive process to earn our accreditation. We made sure that our practice complies with state and local building codes and has a plan to handle emergencies should they arise. We have been granted full anesthesia capabilities due to our physicians’ extensive supervision of these services. We follow nationally recognized infection control guidelines and safety programs. We have a secure health information system. Our patients receive timely contact about any problems. They are treated with respect and are provided with complete information regarding their treatment, rights, and responsibilities.

Why is all of this important? When you see the AAAHC Certificate of Accreditation, you know that our practice is taking the appropriate measures to ensure a safe, comfortable, professional environment to give our patients the best quality of care so that they can have peace of mind before, during, and after their procedure. When you see the AAAHC Certificate of Accreditation, you can be confident that your safety concerns are already answered.

Subfascial Breast Augmentation: What Lies Beneath

When it comes to having silicone implant breast augmentation, there are several options as to where the implants can be placed. You have the option of placing them underneath the pectoralis muscle or above the pectoralis muscle. At One Health Medical & Surgical Center, we encourage our patients to undergo a more advanced surgical technique for breast augmentation called subfascial breast augmentation by placing the implant above the muscle and underneath the fascia.

This has many advantages. First of all, it makes more sense to place the implant above the muscle since this is naturally where breast tissue is found and by doing so, you will achieve a more natural look. Secondly, there is significantly less post-operative pain. Most notably, subfascial breast augmentation avoids what is called “dynamic deformity”.  This occurs in breast augmentations that are placed underneath the muscle also known as submuscular breast augmentation.  When the pectoralis muscles contract during arm movement—for example, when you exercise—, the implants move upwards and out which can be viewed as unnatural. Therefore, we believe that the subfascial approach is far superior than other approaches in breast augmentation. Not many cosmetic surgeons offer this advanced technique, and we are proud to say that it is our specialty. Most patients are good candidates for this as long as they have at least  “A”cup size natural breasts. In the case that subfascial breast augmentation may not be right for you, Dr. Dinh will use the best method possible to achieve your desired results. The only way to determine which procedure is right for you is to schedule a complimentary in-office consultation with our surgeon.
